Taizzi Katy Review: $36 All-You-Can-Eat Sushi & Salmon Belly
I stopped by Taizzi on a weekday at lunchtime but ordered from the dinner menu. I wanted to try the yellowtail collar, which was unavailable that day, so I started with sashimi and a roll instead. The salmon quickly made me very happy I came.
What I Ordered
Salmon and Salmon Belly
These were the stars for me. The salmon was smooth, buttery and soft, with no fishy aftertaste. The salmon belly was even better than I expected. I liked both so much that I ordered another round.
Yellowtail Sashimi Appetizer
The yellowtail came with a yuzu sauce that looked thick but tasted light and refreshing. This was a good reminder not to judge a dish by how its sauce looks!
Final Destination Roll
This roll had soft-shell crab, spicy crab and asparagus, with tuna and salmon on top. I really liked it—enough that I would order it even outside an all-you-can-eat meal. Next time, I would ask for the sauce on the side because it reminded me of ranch, which is not usually my favorite.
Cucumber Salad
The thinly sliced cucumbers were crunchy, light and refreshing, with a citrusy dressing and crabstick. There was none of that bitter cucumber taste I dislike. I also enjoyed the pickled vegetables served alongside the meal.
Scallop and Albacore
The scallop was not fishy, but I missed the sweetness and flavor I wanted. The albacore was too mushy for my taste. These would not be my first choices next time.
Vanilla Mochi
I was already full, but I ended with vanilla mochi, which was included. The staff and owner were incredibly sweet. The owner even made a little tuna sashimi rose with an asparagus stem and avocado leaves—a lovely gesture during my visit.
How Much Was It?
- Dinner all-you-can-eat menu: $36 per person—the menu I ordered.
- Lunch all-you-can-eat menu: $22 per person—the price I mentioned in my May 2024 video.
Check current prices and menu inclusions before visiting.
What Would I Order Again?
More salmon and salmon belly, absolutely. I would also get the Final Destination roll with sauce on the side. I still want to try the yellowtail collar and more rolls on another visit. For someone who loves salmon as much as I do, I thought this meal was worth the price.
