Naga’s Buffet Houston: The Fish, Rice & Curries That Won Me Over

By · My firsthand restaurant visit

I was still discovering how much I loved Indian food when we visited Naga’s. I tried dishes I didn’t even know the names of, and kept finding another reason to go back to the buffet. By the end, I called it one of my top buffets in Houston for quality, regardless of cuisine.

From my Saturday visit video published October 12, 2025.

What I tried

Grilled fish and biryani

The fish was my favorite. It was juicy, well seasoned and so good with the rice that I said I could have been happy eating just that. I went back for another piece on my second round. Watch for the bones as you eat.

The rice had plenty of flavor on its own, and pairing it with fish made it even better. The food reminded me of a fresh home-cooked meal.

Chicken dishes, shrimp and goat curry

I sampled several chicken dishes and curries from the buffet. The seasoning kept impressing me. The shrimp had a nice bounce, and the goat curry was another delicious second-round choice.

Chili garlic mushrooms and noodles

The mushrooms were coated in so much flavor, please get them when you go! The noodles were a surprise favorite too—far more flavorful than I expected, with heat that caught up to me as I ate.

Naan and dessert

The naan was soft and tasted fresh. It went nicely with the sauces and curries. For dessert, I tried two staff recommendations: one warm and sweet with little pearl-like pieces, and another that crumbled and dissolved in my mouth. I forgot their names but you can see both in the video to see what they look like.

How much was it?

Buffet: $25 per person, as listed in my video title for this Saturday visit.

Prices and buffet selections can change. Check the current price and that day’s menu before going.

What would I get again?

The fish and rice would be my first plate, followed by the mushrooms, noodles and goat curry. I called the buffet’s quality 10/10 in the video. Everything I tried made me want another bite, and I was excited to return for more.
