Crown Seafood Houston Review: Dim Sum That Had Me Planning a Return
I had not eaten dim sum in at least a year, and Crown Seafood reminded me what I had been missing. I went in hungry, worked my way through dumplings and chicken feet, and two days later I was getting ready to go back.
What I Ordered
Siu Mai
That first bite made me so happy. The pork was tender, with a soft filling and a little chew from the wrapper.
Har Gow
Har gow is one of my favorites. I loved the slightly chewy wrapper and the shrimp inside. My wrapper fell apart a little, but I still really enjoyed the combination.
Fried Shrimp Balls
These were filled with shrimp and surprisingly light for something fried. The outside was crispy, and the mayonnaise served with them was light, too. I happily went back for another.
Chicken Feet
The chicken feet had a sweet, layered flavor and a soft, gelatinous outside. I liked the little bit of texture from the tendons. They were so good that I did not worry about using my hands.
Preserved Egg and Pork Congee
This was a big bowl. It tasted a little bland to me at first, but some soy sauce helped. Thomas only had a small serving, so I ended up finishing most of it myself.
How Much Was It?

What Would I Order Again?
I would get the siu mai, har gow, shrimp balls and chicken feet again. I enjoyed this meal so much that two days later, I was getting ready for another visit. It brought my dim sum cravings right back.
