Sushi Masa Sugar Land Review: $32.95 Dinner, Sushi Rolls & Appetizers

By · My firsthand restaurant visit

My friend Andrea and I went to Sushi Masa for the all-you-can-eat dinner menu. There were so many choices that it helped to have someone to share with. We ordered rolls, sashimi, salads and appetizers, and left very full.

What I Ordered

Samurai and Snow Crab Rolls

The Samurai roll, with spicy tuna and salmon inside and escolar on top, was a favorite. I also liked how generously filled the snow crab roll was. We tried the Baby Tiger roll, too, but I preferred the Samurai.

Sashimi and Salmon Sushi

The yellowtail tasted fresh to me, and I liked it more than the salmon sashimi. I gave the salmon sashimi a 7/10: buttery with no fishiness, but I wanted it to be even softer. A later piece of salmon sushi was better and more buttery. The scallop and octopus were just okay for me.

Crab Salad and Salmon Skin Salad

I kept ordering the spicy crab appetizer because I liked it so much. It had a little kick and crunchy toppings. The salmon skin salad was another good choice, with crisp skin and refreshing cucumbers. I might have liked those cucumbers even more than the salmon skin!

Seaweed Salad, Salmon Tartare and Pineapple Noodles

I liked the cucumber crunch in the seaweed salad. The salmon tartare had refreshing citrusy sauce, avocado and fish eggs, although the salmon itself was a little tough. The pineapple noodles were good, but I wished they had some meat mixed in.

Fried Calamari

The calamari coating was not for me. It was heavier and grainier than the light batter I prefer with squid.

How Much Was It?

The dinner menu was $32.95 per person in my February 2024 video. A soft drink and one alcoholic beverage were included during that visit, which is AMAZING because I don’t know of any Sushi AYCE places that offer a free alcoholic drink. Even though it was included, I just opted for a Coke. There was a two-hour dining limit at the time. Confirm current prices, drink inclusions and dining policies before going.

What Would I Order Again?

The Samurai roll, snow crab roll, spicy crab appetizer and salmon skin salad would be on my list. I thought the meal was worth it, and sharing with Andrea let us try more of the menu.
