Peacock Indian Restaurant Houston: Chicken Lollipops & Incredibly Tender Goat
A waiter at Naga’s recommended Peacock to us, and I was ready for another Indian meal. The menu was huge, with vegetarian dishes, curries, kebabs and Indo-Chinese options. We settled on a few dishes to share—and ended up taking plenty home.
From my video published December 21, 2025.
What we ordered
Chicken lollipops
These were big, hot and so crispy. The coating was light, the seasoning was delicious, and I couldn’t stop eating them. The outside was flaky and crunchy while the inside tasted rich and savory.
Don’t forget the sauce that comes with them. I loved its herby, cilantro-like flavor. I didn’t know its name, but it worked beautifully with the chicken.
Garlic naan
The naan felt soft and fresh before I even took a bite. Garlic and butter on that bread—delicious. I used it with the curry and tried bites with fish, sauce and rice together.
Goat vindaloo
The waitress recommended vindaloo, and we chose goat. I expected more of the tangy, sour flavor I associate with vindaloo; this version was a little sweeter. The flavor was still great, and the goat was incredibly tender, almost falling off the bone. That texture was a highlight.
Tandoori pomfret and basmati rice
We also ordered the tandoori pomfret. I enjoyed combining a piece of fish with naan, sauce and basmati rice—the different textures and flavors worked so well together. The fish was a generous portion, and we packed up the leftovers.
How much was it?
- Chicken lollipop: $15.99
- Tandoori pomfret: $17.99
- Goat vindaloo: $17.99
- Garlic naan: $2.99
Our order also included rice. Prices may change, so check the current menu before ordering.
What would I order again?
The chicken lollipops would be at the top of my list, with their dipping sauce and garlic naan. I’d also come back for that tender goat, even though I would have liked the vindaloo a little more sour. This was another Indian restaurant I really enjoyed.
