Seafood City Sugar Land: Pancit, Grilled Squid & a Food-Court Feast
A friend told me about Seafood City, and it took me about a year to finally make it over. I went for the food court, but of course I had to walk through the market first. Between the ice cream, sauces and snacks, there was plenty to distract me!
The inside felt much bigger than it looked from outside. Everything looked organized, and by the time I reached the food court, I wanted to try a little of everything.
From my visit video published May 18, 2025. This is what I tried and thought at the time.
What I ordered
Pancit
The pancit was really good. I especially loved all the vegetables mixed in with the noodles. It was one of the parts of the meal I kept enjoying as I worked through the rest of my tray.
Lumpia
I had been thinking of getting one egg roll, but an order came with about ten! I worried these might be too salty, but the seasoning was just right for me. My one wish was for more vegetables in the filling instead of so much meat.
Grilled squid
I love squid, so once I saw it, I had to add it. I was glad they cut it into pieces for me. It had a nice smoky flavor from the grill, and I really liked it.
The big chicken skewer
This was huge—honestly, it looked like it could be somebody’s whole meal. I liked the sweet glaze, but the chicken itself could have been juicier. The receipt listed pork barbecue, although I described and tasted it as chicken during the visit.
Chicken adobo
With so many choices in front of me, I felt put on the spot and went with chicken adobo. It turned out to be very good. I liked the little quail eggs in it too. I didn’t get rice with mine, but I thought rice would have gone nicely with it.
How much was it?
My combo was $14.50, with a choice of rice or noodles and two sides. I added the squid and skewer à la carte, plus water, and stated a food-court total of $36.24 in the video. That total does not include my separate grocery snacks.

A few snacks came home with me
I sampled some of my market finds several days later. The garlic chips were intensely garlicky and a little bitter; I thought they would work better in soup than eaten on their own. The sparkling watermelon drink was sweet and had that artificial watermelon flavor I enjoy.
The chocolate-covered marshmallow biscuits were light and fluffy, with a pleasantly sticky marshmallow texture. The chocolate corn snack reminded me of chocolate-covered Cheetoh puffs. Both dried fruit snacks I tried were too sweet for me, and I said I wouldn’t buy either again.
What would I order again?
Based on what I enjoyed in this meal, the smoky squid, veggie-filled pancit and chicken adobo would be my picks. The food court impressed me, and it made the market visit feel like much more than a grocery run.
